There is always magic around nature. It awakens our five senses. From ancient times, herbs were used for multiple purposes and each one has the power to reveal our sentiments.
Copper is a live metal which breathes and transforms as years go by, but it never loses its value and preciousness like an authentic sapphire. This body of work, reimagines Bombay Sapphire’s royal essence, inspired by the herbs used in Bombay Sapphire Gin, leading to the creation of an alternative Queen Victoria crown.
Souzana, who specializes in ceramics and metal, has been running her own workshop, since 2016 where she teaches ceramics, while also organizing interactive educational ceramic workshops all over the island teaching the history of Cyprus.
She has collaborated with and has run projects for, the Ministry of Education, the Cultural foundation of Bank of Cyprus, the University of Cyprus, and the Pieridis Museum. Her work has been featured in various exhibitions both in Cyprus and abroad.
Using clay as a way of expression and conveying her message, she draws inspiration from the ancient history of Cyprus, adding modern characteristics that reflect the present.
